About Us

Technology is evolving faster than ever, changes that used to take years now happen in months, weeks, even days. But when we look at education, it feels like the system is still marching in place, stuck in the industrial era. If you're here reading this, you probably feel the same way too.

Before you join us on this journey, here's a bit about who we are. Patrick is a military veteran turned developer relations engineer. Yiran journeyed from China to the West on her own and previously worked as a data product manager at Apple. Mitch is a serial entrepreneur and digital nomad.

What ties us together? We're all millennials raised by boomer parents, a generation where staying in one job for life was the norm. That world doesn't exist anymore, and it won't for our kids either.

Today, the three of us work at Alpha School as AI-first engineers, united by a shared mission: transforming education for one billion kids. We started Education Acceleration (edu/acc) to help drive the education revolution — by discussing what's failing about traditional schooling, sharing modern learning science, and exploring both alternative schools and edTech innovations shaping the future of learning.
